Suzan Pektaş and Öykü Önal's project, "Madde ve Reaksiyon: 20. Yüzyılda Hızla Sönen Bir Kent İdeali ve Balya Madeni" received Salt 2023 Research Grant. The project uses art practice to critically examine how the mining activities carried out with foreign capital in Balya district of Balıkesir, in early 20th century, transformed the nature, economy and social structure of the district.
